I am honoured to be fronting the SunriseSunset fundraising events and to be a formal Ambassador for the W4CR charity.

It is an easy role for me because David and he fellow trustees do the work; I just turn up and sail. An easy job!

It was a while ago (at Weymouth Speed Week, October 2008) when David shared with me the bad news (he heard that day) that his cancer had returned. Over a few glasses of beer and wine we discussed the mental and physical challenges he once again will face and he also explained that, due to the chemotherapy treatment, he would delay his low-key windsurfing plan to raise funds, the following May,  for cancer charities.

I was the man that put my feet into David's footstraps for support!..."You organise it and I will front it", I said, ......and the rest is history!

I published my own very personal thoughts as a blog after that Speed Week entitled "everybody hurts"  (http://www.davewhite.me/news/2008/everybodyhurts/index.html) and it is ironic that this song has been released (sung by numerous artists) as a support song for the recent Haiti earthquake appeal. Words very appropriate for people going through suffering and reminding them to "hold on".

W4CR is a great new charity that looks to raise cancer awareness and funds for worthwhile causes and I am pleased to give my support.
